Our Dewlap Toulouse Geese
Amiens Acres is one of the few farms that raises purebred Dewlap Toulouse Geese, this breed of geese are on the Livestock Conservancy list.
They are a very docile breed and can make wonderful pets, they do not chase you , nor are they aggressive like other goose breeds except maybe in the short spring breeding season, the males are protective of their mate. The females lay about 25-35 eggs in the spring , they are very large eggs. We raise both buff and grey colours. They are amazing animals and are great “ watch dogs” as they will vocally alert you to any predators in the yard. They are cold tolerant as long as they have shelter and lots of straw and or shavings for their webbed feet. They are the gentle giant of the yard they are majestic with every move they make.
At Amiens Acres , we have large pastures with ponds for the geese to graze and get plenty of exercise, this produces very healthy happy birds. We offer for sale, limited quantities of adult geese and goslings in the spring.

Our Silver Appleyard Ducks
They lay very well for being a heavy duck 220- 250 eggs per year . The meat of the duck is lean and plentiful. Because of their size they are very cold tolerant and not as tempting as a lunch to flying predators. They winter well in our cold climate , simply needing a shelter from the snow and wind, straw and or shavings for their webbed feet and water to drink with their feed. We offer for sale adults, ducklings and eggs.
Amiens Acres raises pure bred Silver Appleyard Ducks,which are on the Livestock Conservancy list. They are a big beautiful duck with many colours.
